DCT Dispute Dispute Application Time To Bawaslu Only Three Days

JAKARTA The legislative candidate who intends to file a dispute with the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) only has three working days after the General Elections Commission (KPU) determines the Permanent Candidate List (DCT) for members of the DPR and DPD.

It is known that the KPU has appointed DCT members of the DPR and DPD on Friday, November 3. Thus, political parties or candidates who fail to advance can file a dispute with Bawaslu until Wednesday, November 8.

"So the parties who then question their candidacy disputes can register or file a nomination lawsuit on 6.7 and November 8, 2023," said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari, Saturday, November 4.

He revealed that later Bawaslu would settle the lawsuit within 12 working days, by first mediating between the plaintiff and the KPU before hearing the dispute.

However, Hasyim hopes that no lawsuit will be filed with Bawaslu as was the case when DCS was determined by members of the DPR and DPD a few months ago. He stated that the DCT determined by the KPU was in accordance with the procedures and all the terms of the candidate.

According to Hasyim, the existing dispute related to the determination of DCS members of the Provincial and Regency/City DPRDs, even then the number is small, not up to one percent of the total legislative candidates.

The KPU has named 9,917 names in the DCT members of the 202 DPR Election, consisting of 6,241 male and 3,676 female candidates. In addition, the KPU also appointed 668 people to enter the DCT DPD Members. This number consists of men 535 men and 133 women spread across 38 provinces.
