Hylo Open 2023: Rehan/Lisa Secures Indonesia's Second Ticket
JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati successfully reached the quarter-finals of the Hylo Open 2023.
They extended their journey in this event after winning two straight games 21-17 and 22-20 over Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch in Saarlandhalle, Saarbrucken, Germany, Thursday, November 2, 2023 afternoon WIB.
Rehan/Lisa started the first game with three consecutive points. The two pairs then got into a tight match until the Danish pair were two points ahead in the interval.
Five consecutive points were made by the Indonesian pair after that to lead 15-12. The opponent then chased and equalized 16-16 before being forced to surrender by Rehan/Lisa.
The second game was no less fierce. However, the Mads/Christine pair had been in the top of the wind while leading the three-point lead at a break.

Rehan/Lisa's efforts paid off for 17-17 and 18-18. The Danish pair then reached match points before Rehan/Lisa's four-point comeback.
Rehan/Lisa are the second representatives of Indonesia to reach the quarter-finals. Previously, the first ticket was secured by mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
Dejan/Gloria themselves qualified for the last eight of the Hylo Open 2023 after landing the United States mixed doubles trip, Presley Smith/Allison Lee, in a rubber game fight.
