TPN Ganjar-Mahfud Starts Preparing To Face Presidential Election Debate, Andi Widjajanto Explains The Reason
JAKARTA - Deputy for Politics 5.0 of the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN), Andi Widjajanto, said preparations for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) debate had already begun. This is because the format will certainly be different from the 2019 presidential election, which is only followed by two pairs of candidates.
"We have to prepare for a special debate because it is different from 2014-2019, this is a debate about three candidates," Andi told reporters in the Kebon Sirih area, Jakarta, Thursday, November 2.
In this preparation, Andi said all strategic issues had been discussed with the presidential and vice presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. Both are said to have provided input.
The 2023 presidential election debate will be held from November 20 to February 10. It is planned that this activity will be held five times with details three times for presidential candidates and twice for vice presidential candidates.
"We will always get a complete picture of the presidential and vice presidential candidates of how he both can guide us at the TPN to move in accordance with the considerations and strategic needs that Mas Ganjar and Prof Mahfud feel," he said.

For information, the 2024 presidential election was attended by three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates. They are Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Meanwhile, in the 2019 presidential election, there were only two candidate pairs running. They are Joko Widodo who is an incumbent candidate paired with Ma'ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno.
