Acting Governor Make Sure Hospitals In West Java Are Ready To Handle Monkeypox Cases
BANDUNG - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Kalioni Machmudin stated that hospitals (RS) in West Java are ready to face cases of monkeypox that have been detected in West Java in several cases.
"For the hospital, the head of the health department had informed him that there was coordination, so it was ready to accept if anyone was infected or had symptoms like that," Bey said after the West Java Provincial Government Leadership Meeting (Rapim) at the Sate building in Bandung, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 2.
Bey said that currently there is still one monkeypox patient being treated at the Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung and one suspected patient in Bogor has tested negative.
As an anticipatory measure, Bey reminded the public, especially health workers, to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid direct contact with sufferers.
Regarding the possibility of restricting movement, Bey said the West Java Provincial Government had not issued the regulation as an effort to suppress the spread of monkeypox.
"The point is that we maintain a healthy lifestyle to avoid direct contact with the infected, so there is no limit on movement, no God willing, we can do this pattern," he said.
At the same location, the Head of the West Java Health Office, Vini Adiani Dewi, said that his party had received reports that three West Java residents were infected with monkeypox, in the cities of Bandung, Bogor and Karawang.

However, he said, after checking one infected Bogor resident, the results were negative.
"He was treated at RS 1, then Karawang recovered, he said he was already working and one Bogor turned out to be negative. A total of two in West Java with one in Karawang," said Vini at Gedung Sate.
Vini Adiani Dewi said that based on information from the surveillance team, in this case, monitoring the development of monkeypox per day, there is no new case reporting.
Even so, his party continues to track, especially for family members so that later there will be no additional cases.
"We have done the tracking, for example, in Karawang we have coordinated with the Karawang Health Office and thank God, after 21 days there have been no reports that his family has monkeypox," he said.
