Three Former Pemalang Regent Bribery Officials Sentenced To One Year In Prison
Semarang Corruption Court sentenced three former Pemalang Regency Government officials in the case of accepting bribes and gratuities to former Mukto Regent Agung Wibowo in the local district government for the period 2021-2022.
The verdict read by Chief Justice Kukuh Subyakto was lighter than the prosecutor's demands for 1.5 years.
The three defendants who were tried were each Head of the Education and Culture Office Abdul Rachman, Head of the Suhirman Village Community and Government Empowerment Service, and Head of the Regional Revenue Management Agency Mubarak Ahmad.
In addition to corporal punishment, the three defendants were each sentenced to a fine of Rp. 100 million, which if not paid would be replaced with imprisonment for 2 months.
"To declare the defendant guilty of violating Article 5 Paragraph 1 letter b of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 1.
In their consideration, the three defendants were proven to have each given Rp100 million to Mukti Agung for the positions obtained.

The three defendants were sworn in in the new position held in December 2021, while the thanksgiving money for the new position was handed over in January 2022.
