InJourney Aims For Money Turnover At Aquabike Jetski 2023 Reaches IDR 1.7 Trillion

JAKARTA - PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney targets the circulation of money during the Aquabike Jetski World Championship Lake Toba event to reach more than IDR 1.7 trillion. This circulation of money will be increased, especially for the North Sumatra region.

As is known, this world-class motorcycle racing event will be held from November 22 to 26, 2023. There are four districts around Lake Toba that will host the event, namely Toba, Karo, Dairi, and Samosir.

Director of Marketing and Consumer Experience InJourney, Maya Watono is optimistic that the circulation of money during the Aquabike Jetski event will increase compared to last year. Especially for North Sumatra.

"Then we were national Rp1.7 trillion, local around Rp400 billion. So we have to be more than that, especially in the local area, we want a large local proportion," he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 31.

Furthermore, Maya explained that the financial turnover was supported by a number of economic activity in four areas around Lake Toba during the implementation of Aquabike Jetski. Such as aircraft flights, accommodation, to MSMEs or other businesses.

"The economy impact obtained from accommodation, retail, fnb, MSMEs, labor, flight, is the circulation of money," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that holding the international sporting event was a form of branding for Lake Toba as a water sport tourism.

"Today we are happy that we can launch Aquabike International Championship, where this is a continuation of our effort to build 5 DPSP, of course Toba is one of the main DPSPs besides Borobudur, Labuan Bajo-Flores, Mandalika and Likupang with the theme sport tourism," he said.

Tiko, as he is familiarly called, said that efforts to revive super priority tourism destinations (DPSP) are important considering that the government has invested a large investment for the development of 5 DPSP.

Furthermore, Tiko said that the Aquabike Jetski World Championship on Lake Toba will be followed by around 40 racers from more than 18 countries. They consist of around 30 international racers and 10 Indonesian racers.

"With the presence of 10 national athletes, it can become Indonesia's flagship in the future to be able to enter the Aquabike International event," he said.
