Residents Evacuated The Impact Of Pekat Smoke From The Rawa Cata Tangerang TPA Fire
JAKARTA - The Tangerang city government (Pemkot), Banten evacuated dozens of residents to the Neglasari sub-district office. This is an effort to anticipate that people will not be exposed to disease due to inhaling fire smoke from the Rawa cat TPA.
"While we evacuated them, because smoke from the fire could have a negative impact on the health of local residents," said Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah quoting Antara.
For now, 34 people have been evacuated with details of 19 adults and 15 children. Currently, fires are still occurring in the Rawa Cat TPA and the fire has not been extinguished.
Strong winds and hot weather made the fire rise again after on Saturday morning it gradually shrank. Until finally the City Government took quick steps.
Mayor Arief also instructed the Social Service to immediately provide assistance for the needs of the displaced communities at the sub-district office.

"We have asked the Social Service Office to immediately send aid, especially food for the refugees," he said.
The head of the Tangerang City Social Service, Mulyani, explained that his party had followed up on the mayor's direction by distributing food aid to refugees who now live in the Neglasari District office.
"Food aid has been distributed, and other aid is also being prepared," he said.
