Matang Preparations For Fajar-Rian Past The Quarter-finals Of The Denmark Open

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Rian Ardianto through the quarter-finals of the Denmark Open 2023. This is thanks to careful preparation in the form of video analysis and strategy selection when facing Jin Yong/Na Sung Seung, Friday night Odense time.

Fajar/Rian admitted that they paid special attention to the South Korean duo because they proved to be able to beat opponents who were statistically superior in the previous round.

"We have been wary of the opponent's game, they played very well in the first half by defeating Leo/Daniel, then in the second half they beat Hockey/Kobayashi (Japan). They are very dangerous, so we prepared a strategy by analyzing their video matches. And earlier the field was quite successful," said Fajar through PP PBSI's official information in Jakarta, Saturday.

Fajar/Rian's hard work finally yielded positive results by winning two straight games 21-15, 21-14 in a 34-minute match at Jyske Bank Arena.

Since the beginning of the match, the Indonesian duo has always tried to put pressure on the front zone. This is intended to reduce Jin/Na's attacks which are quite dangerous.

The Korean duo often provides long passes which will later be executed into counter-attacks. Fajar/Rian decided to cut off Jin/Na's efforts from the start of service.

"We anticipate their front game and then try to reduce the opponent's counter-attacks. It became their weapon in the last two games," Rian explained.

However, Fajar/Rian's steps are not over yet, because they will certainly face a difficult match in the semifinals against their compatriots, namely Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

After having slumped since winning the All England 2022, Bagas/Fikri are now entering a positive trend again with increasing performance.

Although they must be involved in a "brotherly war", the positive side is that the Indonesian men's doubles ensures one ticket to the final round at the BWF Super 750 category tournament.
