Meeting Hundreds of Thousands of Soldiers at the Border, Israeli Minister of Defense Gives Ground Attack Code to Gaza
JAKARTA - Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the country's military would soon enter the Gaza Strip, Palestine, although he had not announced when the order would come.
Meeting hundreds of thousands of his soldiers on the Gaza border, he asked them to prepare and organize their forces, although he did not say when the invasion order would come, quoted from VOA, October 20.
Since the attack by Hamas militants on their territory on October 7, Israel has alerted approximately 300,000 troops along the border.
"You now see Gaza from a distance, you will soon see it from inside. Orders will come," Defense Minister Gallant told Israeli soldiers, quoted by Reuters.
It said Israeli troops were not expected to enter the Gaza area when foreign leaders were visiting.
Prior to Defense Minister Gallant's statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a visit from two of his allies, namely United States President Joe Biden, followed by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Shortly after Defense Minister Gallant's statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video of himself with troops near the border promising victory.
"All indications are that the worst is yet to come," Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi told reporters in Amman.
