Community Records Contributors On Platform X Now Mandatory To Add Sources

JAKARTA - Community Notes or Community Records are one of the features that have been platform X, previously on Twitter, upgrading to combat disinformation. However, this feature can also cause problems.

Although the goal is good to provide clarification from someone's upload, some contributors actually include unclear notes, are not important, or are not related to their uploads.

To prevent this from happening again and again, Community Records announced that their policies had changed. Now, contributors need to include sources valid and related to uploads.

By including a source, X believes this step can bring more benefits. In addition, uploads with Notes referring to the source allow readers to verify the contents of their uploads.

X admits that they did not require this policy beforehand because the majority of uploads do not need sources. However, considering that some Notes only refer to upload details and the media, X is starting to realize the importance of sources.
