Sri Mulyani Happy European Union Praises Indonesia's Economy Compared To Other Countries In Southeast Asia
JAKARTA - EU (EU) Commissioner for Economic Affairs, Paolo Gentiloni praised the Indonesian economy because it was considered better and bigger than other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia or Vietnam.
This was conveyed directly by Paolo Gentiloni during a working visit from the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati in Marrakesh, Morocco.
"As a state financial manager, I am certainly happy with this recognition," said Sri Mulyani in an upload on her personal Instagram, quoted Monday, October 16.
Sri Mulyani added that with the very good condition of Indonesia's economic condition and being able to maintain performance amidst the economic slowdown in the region and globally, it can be an attractive opportunity for foreign investors to invest in Indonesia.
" Paolo and I have discussed a lot about this, Indonesia opens up opportunities for economic cooperation with many strategic partners," he said.
In addition, the two Ministers also discussed potential downstream investment by expanding investment opportunities in natural resources (SDA), especially nickel for the electric vehicle ecosystem and crude palm oil for biofuels.

Not only that, the two Ministers also discussed the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) which will take effect in the European Union.
According to him, there are many aspects that need to be observed by Indonesia to be able to minimize the impact and mitigate the impact that will be faced with the implementation of the policy.
"We hope that the steps taken will be equally beneficial for both countries," he explained
In addition, the two Ministers hope that strengthening dialogue and increasing communication will be able to maximize joint advantages and strengthen economic cooperation between Indonesia and the European Union.
