Israel-Palestinian Conflict Heats Up, DPR Asks The Indonesian Ministry Of Foreign Affairs To Call For Peace Through The Multilateral Forum
JAKARTA - The conflict between Palestine and Israel in the Gaza Strip erupted following tensions that occurred after the closure of entrances and exits in the region. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has also declared an open war against Palestine. Heating up the Israeli and Palestinian conflict is in the spotlight of House of Representatives Commission I member Dave Laksono. Dave asked the government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) to call for peace in Palestine. According to him, Indonesia could use multilateral forums to call for peace. "We must use all kinds of multilateral forums to call for peace," Dave told reporters, Monday, October 9.
Dave said, Indonesia is a country that fights for the independence of all nations. So according to him, every military aggression must be stopped.
"We have an attitude in accordance with the 1945 Constitution. Where we reject all forms of oppression and deprivation of national independence on earth. I see that the best thing right now is to stop all kinds of military aggression in order to restart peace in the Middle East", said Dave.
The Golkar politician assessed that the Indonesian government has always been at the forefront of garnering support for Palestine. Even the Republic of Indonesia also provided assistance to Palestine.
"The government and the Indonesian nation have always been at the forefront of garnering support and providing assistance to those affected by the attack. And we will continue to work on it and improve it in order to uphold basic rights," he said. Previously, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu RI) voiced his concern over the increase in the escalation of the conflict between Palestine and Israel.
