Promise Of Moto2 Rider Bo Bendsneyder If Podium At Mandalika Circuit: Bring The Indonesian Flag
JAKARTA - Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team racer, Bo Bendsneyder, promised to bring the Indonesian flag if it later went on the podium in the Moto2 race at the Mandalika Circuit, this weekend.
Actually, he's done this action before. He had carried the Red and White flag while on the podium at the Austin Circuit, America in April.
"If I take the podium at the Mandalika Circuit, I will celebrate it like when I was in a race in the US. Mandalika is like my second house, because my grandfather was born in Surabaya," said Bo Bendsneyder.
Please note, the Dutch racer has Indonesian blood from his grandfather who was born in Surabaya. For that, he felt that Indonesia was his second home.
The 24-year-old man said the warmth and friendliness shown by the Indonesian people to him helped make him fall in love.
"Many Indonesians support and I like it. Here the supporters are so warm (support me). They support not when I'm upgrading, but when I'm down their performance always gives support," he said, quoted by Antara.
Together with Pertamina Mandalika Racing Team, Bo Bendsneyder hopes to finish in pole position at the Mandalika Circuit which will take place next week.
"Here (Indonesia) is like my second house. We get a lot of support from the community. This provides additional motivation for me. I really do. There is no specific finishing target, but what is clear is that I want to finish in front," said Bendsneyder.
Currently Bo Bendsneyder is struggling in the Moto2 event and is ranked 18th with 22 points.
