Semarang Police Chief Examined By Investigators Regarding Allegations Of Extortion Of KPK Leaders
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has again examined one witness in the alleged extortion case of the KPK leadership in handling cases at the Ministry of Agriculture in 2022. The witness is the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar."It is true (Irwan) is one of the witnesses who has been clarified at the investigation stage," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirkrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak when confirmed in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Sunday, October 8.However, Ade Safri did not explain when Irwan was asked for information. He only revealed that Irwan was examined as a witness in the investigation process.Ade also did not reveal what information investigators dug up against Irwan in the process of examining the alleged extortion case.He only explained that investigators would later summon Irwan as a witness in the process of investigating this case."After the fingerprinting stage (investigation), a summons will be scheduled for the person concerned to be questioned as a witness," said Ade Safri.The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Metro Jaya Police has raised the extortion case allegedly carried out by the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) from the investigation stage to investigation.Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Ade Safri Simanjuntak explained that the case title had been held on Friday (6/10) in the interest of increasing the status of the investigation to the investigation stage in the alleged crime."From the results of the implementation of the case title, it is then recommended to raise the status of the investigation to the investigation stage of the alleged criminal act of corruption in the form of extortion," Ade said at a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday (7/10).The corruption case in question, said Ade, is extortion or receipt of gratuities or receipt of gifts or promises by civil servants or state administrators related to handling legal problems at the Ministry of Agriculture from 2020 to 2023."This is as referred to in Article 12e or Article 12g or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code," he said.Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya has examined six people in the extortion case against SYL allegedly carried out by the KPK leadership.
"After the issuance of the investigation warrant dated August 21, 2023, then the investigative team began to invite six clarifications," said Ade Safri during a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (5/10).Ade revealed that the six people who had been examined included SYL, the driver, and SYL's aide.
