The Fifth President of Indonesia has just received a honorary causa (HC) doctorate in social science from Tunku University Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia on Monday 2 October. Megawati Soekarnoputri is known as one of the political figures in Indonesia who has a myriad of academic honorary titles at an old age. The title she got from UTAR became her 10th honorary causa doctorate. The title was handed over in an official ceremony at UTAR Sungai Long Campus, Selangor, Malaysia.

UTAR Malaysia handed over the honorary title of causa to Megawati because President Soekarno's daughter was considered to have contributed in the social sector. Dato 'Ewe Hong Tat, President/Chairman of the UTAR Executive, wrote in his letter that the awarding of this title was a form of recognition for the contribution and services of the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Dato Ewe said that Megawati had contributed and contributed to social, education, innovation, and research. He also said that Megawati had been proving extraordinary engagement for a long time and was an inspiration to many people.
