Tribute To Legends: Porsche And TAG Heuer Design Exclusive Legends Of Panordina Cars
JAKARTA - Porsche and TAG Heuer have been in partnership for years on exclusive projects, including the launch of watch collaboration. This time, this partnership is with the development of exclusive cars.
The project is named 'TAG Heuer x Porsche - Legends of Panordina', where the two are working together to develop a custom-designed 718 Cayman GT4 model.
Inspiration for this project stems from the 550 Coupe model used in Mexico's Carrera Panamenana racing event in 1953. This high-performance car was designed exclusively with a focus on lightweight construction, special fine-tuning on chassis, and advanced aerodynamic technology. In addition, the 718 Cayman GT4 Hospital is designed to resemble the legendary racing car.
As a form of respect for 550 Coupe, Porsche bought the sports car with racing number '154', and this car was exhibited at the Rennsport Reunion 7 annual event and was part of the 'TAG Heuer Heritage Experience' exhibition.
"Through the partnership of TAG Heuer and Porsche, Carrera Panordina combines two brands that have many similarities, such as innovation, desire for racing, and realizing dreams. We want to celebrate this partnership by launching a pair of cars that will only be produced once. This is also a gift for our customers who are very enthusiastic in Latin America," said Robert Ader, Head of Marketing for Porsche AG in a company statement, Monday, October 2.
The second car with racing number '152' will be displayed along with the number '154'. Different from the first car, this second model will be auctioned in early 2024 for charity.
The two cars were built at a Porsche Sonderw Workshop in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen with the support of Style Porsche, Porsche Latin America, company archives, and TAG Heuer.
The two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is coated with the colors of Le Mans Silver Metallic. The same color is also used for the other outside, including window corners, panels from various air insertions on the front and side, as well as all parts covered with carbon layers.
