There Are No Additional Partners In The Rokan Block, Pertamina Value Government Is Still Able
JAKARTA - The government through the Director General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Tutuka Ariadji assessed that PT Pertamina (Persero) is still able to manage the Rokan Block without partners. In fact, in terms of Production Sharing Cost (PSC) or Revenue Sharing Contract, Pertamina is required to partner with partners in the management of the Block located in Riau Province.
"The Rokan Block is still Pertamina. Pertamina is still running alone now," said Tutuka to the sata media crew when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, October 2.
He revealed that until now Pertamina is still able to manage the block previously abandoned by Chevron.
Regarding the possibility of an opportunity to add Pertamina's partners, Tutuka said that his party was still looking back at the conditions and conditions in the future so that they could make the right decisions.
"We'll see the condition later. We'll look forward, indeed in the future. But now we can still do it alone," said Tutuka.
Meanwhile, two years after the transfer of management from Chevron, Pertamina Hulu Rokan managed to record the highest oil production in Indonesia with an achievement of 172,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).
President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Chalid Said Salim said that since the transfer of management of the Rokan block from Chevron two years ago, PHR has managed to drill 800 wells with 80s of rigs.

Since the transfer of management, PHR has drilled 825 wells and 84 rigs in Rokan WK.
To note, the positive trend of increasing PHR production has been seen since the end of July 2023, where the highest number in a row was 167,645 BOPD on July 31, 2023, then 168,730 BOPD on August 1, 2023, continuing 167,034 BOPD on August 2, 2023 and 169,282 BOPD on August 7, 2023.
