Honda Starts Electrification Tour By Presenting Prologue

JAKARTA - Honda is taking a major step in the fully electrified era with the launch of its newest model, Honda Prologue. The car is scheduled to be available on the market at the beginning of next year, and this is an important step in the manufacturer's plans to present environmentally friendly vehicles.

The Honda Prologue, built on Ultium's General Motors (GM) platform, introduces a specially tuned suspension to improve unique driving convenience and experience.

"The presence of the All New Honda Prologue is an important milestone on Honda's journey towards a zero emission future," Lance Woefer, Assistant Vice President of Honda America, said in a statement on Thursday, September 28.

Prologue was chosen as the name of this model to reflect Honda's first steps in carrying out their electrification strategy. This medium-sized SUV has impressive designs and is designed to address challenges in urban environments and heavier terrain.

Honda pays great attention to the comfort of this model by providing a broad interior, adopting models inspired designs such as Civic, HR-V, Accord, and CR-V, with the use of high-quality materials.

This car is equipped with an 11-inch digital instrument screen and an 11.3-inch HD infotainment touch screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a standard feature. The Honda design team also includes two places for drinks in the middle, along with a mid-cone that provides settings including vehicle temperature settings.

Honda's three-barke steering wheel is maintained, equipped with various functional cabin setting buttons. In addition, this latest model is equipped with various high-level safety features from Honda Sensing, including Rear Cross Traffic, Blind Zone Steering, and Rear Pedestrian Alert.

Prologue will be available in three trim variants, namely EX, Touring, and Elite. Powered by an all-wheel drive and single electric motor driving system, Prologue produces 288 dk of power and torque of 451 Nm. Honda will also release the 2WD variant, but the specifications have not been disclosed.

This car is powered by a battery with a capacity of 85 kWh, which allows vehicles to reach a distance of up to 482 km with one charge. You can also charge this vehicle with home electricity of 11.5 kW from 0 to 100 percent in less than 8 hours. Prologue is also compatible with fast charging DC 155 kW, which can increase the distance of 104 km in just 10 minutes.

Competing in the same segment as Hyundai Ioniq 5, Toyota bZ4X, and VW ID.4 Pro, Honda Prologue will be present in the market with an estimated selling price of above 40,000 US dollars or around Rp. 619.2 million.
