East Java Chamber Of Commerce: The Government's Steps On The Latest Social Commerce Rules Are Right
JAKARTA - The East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) considers the steps taken by the government in terms of the latest regulations regarding social commerce through the revision of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 50 of 2020 to be appropriate.
"The government is very true, social media for promotion is not for selling because the tax monitor cannot be monitored, the rules are correct," said Chairman of the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adik Dwi Putranto, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, September 27.
According to him, the regulation was correct because both of them could not be mixed.
"If you want to enter the sale and purchase, you have to enter on your own platform on e-commerce, because once again to monitor the buying and selling tax," he said.
Therefore, his party suggested that social media and e-commerce not be merged even though TikTok is currently on the rise.
"This is indeed a new challenge for Small and Medium Micro Enterprises (MSMEs), indeed now in TikTok, because if you sell there you sell quickly," he said.
In fact, he said, MSME actors such as those in Kapasan Surabaya, also in Tanah Abang Jakarta, sometimes even sell on TikTok.
"Don't think that MSME players in traditional markets don't run TikTok, they sell conventionally and digitally," he said.
In addition, the revision of Permendag Number 50 also prohibits the sale of imported goods at a price below 100 US dollars.
"This must be regulated, because many cheap goods have started to appear that do not know where the goods come from, whether they are legal for imports or illegal," he said.

The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Trade will regulate different licensing between e-commerce platforms and social commerce through the revision of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 50 of 2020.
The revision of the Permendag is being pursued and one of the reasons is the Tiktok social media platform or Tiktok Shop which combines the two features, even though the rules should have a different operating permit.
The important point in the revision of Permendag this time is that all online shopping platforms are not allowed to become producers in any product.
