Suzuki Jimny Breaks Guinness World Record Uniquely

JAKARTA - Suzuki Auto South Africa managed to score the Guinness World Record at the Jimny Gathering 2023 event, an event held at the Clarens Festival, South Africa.

At the end of last week, 787 units of Suzuki Jimny managed to gather in the spirit of togetherness and the same passion for the off-road world. Jimny has recorded four generations of gatherings, including Jimny five new doors.

The event peaked in a world record-breaking effort when 787 Jimny simultaneously turned on the vehicle lights within five seconds, with Guinness World Records also present to pass the feat.

The three-day festival is held as a tribute to Jimny, who has built a reputation as a mini off-roader capable of reaping global success.

Initially, quoted from Carbuzz, September 25, this event was intended to celebrate Jimny's 50th birthday in 2020, but the event was hampered by the global pandemic. However, the intention to hold the event remains strong in the minds of Suzuki Auto South Africa lovers.

Jimny has now entered the fourth generation after debuting in 1970 as a small off-roader. The car has all the characteristics of classical off-roaders, such as separate body frames and low-range case transfers, as well as small dimensions and compact axis distances giving it extraordinary off-road capabilities, although sometimes with the dynamics of driving on highways. However, that doesn't stop owners in Japan from turning it into an amazing small track vehicle.
