PAN Asks All Parties To Respect Kaesang's Choice To Join PSI
Chairman of the PAN Saleh DPP, Partaonan Daulay asked the public to respect the decision of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, who has officially joined the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) cadre. According to Saleh, every citizen has the right to be affiliated with one of the political parties.
"Kaesang is an Indonesian citizen, therefore every citizen has the right to make their political choices, they have the right to be affiliated with one of the political parties. Political choices are part of our freedom in a democracy," Saleh said in his statement, Sunday, September 24.
"Therefore, if Kaesang makes the choice to join PSI, then all parties must respect it and we also from PAN certainly respect that choice," Saleh added.
Saleh said that the community, including PAN, could not dictate Kaesang's political choices. This, he said, was not because Kaesang was the president's son, but more because Kaesang was a citizen who had political rights.
"We cannot dictate to Kaesang. Not because he is the president's son, but because he is a citizen, so citizens have the right to take their political stance regarding existing choices," he said.
Saleh also assessed that Kaesang had studied carefully to join PSI. What's more, the news of Kaesang joining PSI has been blowing for the past week, which makes Kaesang of course already have time before deciding his steps.
"Kaesang must have conducted an in-depth study, for that we respect the existing choices. Hopefully we can work from the political world at PSI," concluded Saleh.
It is known that the youngest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Kaesang Pangarep, has officially joined PSI. This membership assurance was marked by the submission of a party friendly card (KTA) to Kaesang by PSI General Chair Giring Ganesha, in front of President Jokowi's private residence on Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Sumber Village, Banjarsari District, Solo City, Central Java, last Saturday.

"So today is a happy day because in the end Mawar, who was asked by media friends so far, immediately introduced herself," Grace said after a closed meeting with Kaesang at President Jokowi's residence.
