Supported By PMII, Muhaimin Is More Confident That He Will Be Vice President
JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar recalled that he was raised by the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) organization to become a national figure.
"I was raised, given knowledge, leadership skill capital from PMII. I think this capital is enough to become a leader at various levels to reach the highest level," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 23.
This was conveyed by Muhaimin when he was a speaker at the PMII Class I National Movement School, with the theme, Movement Towards Change at Pamulang University, Banten, Saturday (23/9).
Muhaimin even admitted that if he was ready to become vice president because he had the support of PMII. He said, every time he visited the regions as vice president, he would be greeted by PMII cadres.
"I conclude, thank God, as a readwapres, I was accompanied by all PMII cadres throughout Indonesia. Therefore, I am increasingly optimistic that I am leading with the capital ideals that PMII has," he emphasized.
Muhaimin also requested that all things that have been carried out by PMII so far be maintained.
"What has been done is maintained, maintained, strengthened so that later if you regenerate the leadership after I can lead the PKB, the state can become a minister, it can be a driving force for the community, it could be the leader of the organization, it could be that the General Chairperson of PBNU is a product of regeneration in PMII," he ordered.

He also advised PMII cadres to be ready to be asked anywhere for the benefit of the people.
"Ready for you to be cadres sent for the benefit of the people, the interests of the nation, the interests of the state, because with ready to become leaders, this country will not lack the stock of leaders," he asserted.
