Mount Jayati Fire Palabuhanratu Sukabumi Is Increasingly Widespread
SUKABUMI - The Mount Jayanti fire in Palabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java continues to spread. The fire is still growing and even clearly visible from residential areas.
"The fire is currently growing, joint officers are still on standby at the location worried that the fire will spread to residential areas," said the Manager of the Central Control and Operations (Pusdalops) of the Sukabumi Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Daeng Sutisna as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 22.
Based on information compiled from the Palabuhanratu District Disaster Management Officer (P2BK), he said, the Mount Jayanti fire in Jayanti Village, Jayanti Village, Palabuhanratu District occurred at around 16.15 WIB.
Initially, there was a puff of smoke at the fire point, where joint officers from BPBD elements, the Sukabumi Regency Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP), Polri and TNI assisted by residents and volunteers tried to extinguish the fire with makeshift tools.
However, the fire was difficult to extinguish and even continued to grow and spread to the forest leading to land and residential areas. The fire quickly grew because the location of the incident was many tree branches and dry grass plus the wind was blowing quite hard.
