Maluku Police Secure 13.6 Tons Of Oplosan Fuel In SBB
AMBON - Maluku Regional Police (Polda) through the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) secured 13.6 tons of mixed fuel oil (BBM) and 600 liters of pure kerosene in West Seram Regency (SBB).
The security was carried out after the police raided three warehouses in SBB, which are the locations for the subsidized fuel supply of pure diesel and kerosene.
"Yes, the disclosure was from last Saturday to Sunday in SBB Regency. We have secured five people. We also secure evidence in the form of 13.6 tons of diesel which has been mixed with pure kerosene and 600 liters of kerosene," said Head of Sub-Directorate IV Kompol Andi Zulkifli as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.
the five residents suspected of running the illegal business are MR, SR, AR, AJ and HS.
Andi explained that this case was the abuse of transportation and trading of subsidized fuel as referred to in Law (UU) Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, and Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2023 concerning Job Creation into Law.
This mixed fuel practice, said Andi, was revealed because of community participation. They provide information to the police.
"Initially, from public information, we studied it, we mobilized members to the field. And it turned out that there was a cheating practice carried out by the perpetrators," he said.

Three locations of subsidized fuel supply that were successfully uncovered were in Waisamu Village, West Kairatu District, Pakarena Hamlet, Kairatu Village, Kairatu District, and Tala Village, Amalatu District, SBB Regency.
There are also two fuel tankers that we secure as evidence each with a capacity of 5,000 liters with police numbers DE 8491 BU and DE 8099 BU, he added.
According to him, this case will continue to be investigated and developed to reveal whether other parties are involved.
"We are still developing this case, and it is possible that there are other parties involved in this case," said Andi.
