Garbage Transportation Temporarily Stopped Due To The Semarang Jatibarang TPA Fire
SEMARANG - Officers temporarily suspended waste transportation activities following the fire that hit the Jatibarang TPA, Semarang City, Central Java.
"Because the route is prioritized for fire engines, the truck carrying sampat has been temporarily stopped," said Head of the Semarang City Fire Department, Nurkholis, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.
In addition to the activities of garbage trucks, he said, scavengers and cattle breeders were asked to be temporarily suspended.
"Child farmers are temporarily asked to leave the TPA area," he added.
According to him, the topography of the Jatibarang TPA and strong winds caused the fire to spread faster.

Previously, a fire hit the Jatibarang TPA area, Semarang City, Monday, September 18, noon.
The fire first appeared in the former TPA at the top which spread to the bottom.
The trigger for the fire in the TPA that has been closed is not yet known.
The fire spread to the waste disposal site which is a former fertilizer factory.
The fire engine, assisted by water tanker trucks belonging to a number of government agencies, tried to extinguish the fire that hit the TPA.
