Action To Malasysia, A Gang Of Robbers From South Sumatra Mode Of Broken Glass Arrested

The gang of robbers in the mode of breaking car windows from South Sumatra (Sumsel) has acted more than 10 times in various provinces in Indonesia to Malaysia.

They were arrested by the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Regional Police. A gang from South Sumatra (Sumsel) with evidence of hundreds of millions of rupiah in cash.

The four suspects were Rudi Thusin, Hendra Saputra, Umardi Saputra, and Rendi Marceleno and all residents of South Sumatra and were arrested on Sunday.

From the hands of the suspects, officers confiscated evidence of two motorbikes belonging to the suspect which were used to carry out robbery and evidence of jackets, clothes, and pants belonging to the suspect.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol. Sumaryono, said that from the results of the investigation and investigation, the gang of robbers had acted in more than ten crime scenes, namely in the Pekan Baru Riau area, Majalengka, West Java Province, Borobudur temple area, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and in various regions of North Sumatra Province.

"We have disclosed the theft group with weights, namely glass-breaking specialists. This group has been operating since 2015 and one or captain with the initials RT (Rudi Thusin) from this group of robbers has been doing it since 2010. From 2010, one of them has carried out his actions abroad, namely in Malaysia," said Sumaryono, Wednesday, September 13.

Sumaryono also explained that the modus operandi of the four suspected robbers was by using two motorbikes walking from his home in the Palembang area to various provinces in Indonesia by targeting the victims of bank customers.

After that, the perpetrators stalked the victim who came out of the bank, when the victim was caught off guard, the perpetrators then took action by breaking the glass of the victim's car.

"So the perpetrators stalked the victim who left the bank. When the victim was caught off guard, the perpetrators carried out the action, namely by breaking the glass of the victim's car using a busy and taking the victim's belongings," he explained.

The disclosure of this gang of car glass-breaking specialist robbers was revealed based on reports from victims who were robbed by perpetrators in the South Tapanuli Regency and Deli Serdang Regency with a total loss of hundreds of millions of rupiah.

From the victim's report, the officers then conducted an investigation by examining a number of CCTV footage at various locations of the incident and finally the officers managed to arrest the perpetrators.

To account for his actions, the four suspects are now languishing in the detention cell of the North Sumatra Police Headquarters. The suspects are also threatened with being subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of more than five years in prison.

Meanwhile, two motorbikes belonging to the suspect were secured at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the North Sumatra Police to be used as evidence.
