In Front Of Japanese, South Korean And Chinese Leaders, President Jokowi Invites To Respect International Law
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo invites ASEAN partner countries to jointly respect international law, to maintain stability and peace in the region for growth and progress.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi when opening the ASEAN Plus Three Summit which was attended by Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
President Jokowi said that for more than two decades ASEAN Plus Three had produced many results and became a growth motorbike in the region.
"However, we must not be complacent. We must continue to open and create new opportunities for cooperation, where green economy development can be one of the priorities in the future," said President Jokowi in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 6.
He added that ASEAN really appreciates the support of the RRT, Japan and the Republic of Korea for the development of the EV battery ecosystem and the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum.
"This is important for regional progress and growth," said President Jokowi.
"However, this goal will certainly be disrupted if we cannot maintain peace and stability in the region," he continued.
"Therefore, I invite all of us to have the same taste, have the same awareness, to jointly maintain peace and stability in the region by continuing to respect international law," said President Jokowi.
