Minister Of PUPR Basuki: The President's Policy To Overcome Road And Bridge Infrastructure Is Constrained By Budget
KAPUAS HULU - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said West Kalimantan Province received a disbursement of Rp650 billion from the presidential policy through the presidential instruction (Inpres).
The funds are to help deal with road and bridge infrastructure that is not handled by the regional budget.
"The President's policy is to help overcome the infrastructure of roads and bridges that have been constrained due to budget constraints in the region, including in Kapuas Hulu Regency," said Basuki Hadimuljono, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, September 4.
Basuki said President Joko Widodo was committed to building Indonesia from the outskirts, so he took the initiative to issue an Inpres policy to handle provincial and district bridges throughout Indonesia with a total budget of IDR 14.6 trillion sourced from the 2023 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
According to him, the Presidential Instruction was carried out by the Ministry of PUPR as an effort by the government to realize development in the regions.
In addition to the Inpres funds, the Ministry of PUPR has also budgeted IDR 1.7 trillion for West Kalimantan, including for the handling of border pararel roads and Kalimantan pararel roads.
For Kapuas Hulu Regency, which is currently being worked on, namely the Nanga Erak Kapuas Hulu Street, West Kalimantan-Batas, and the border pararel road which will penetrate along border lines in West Kalimantan such as Aruk, Entikong, Nanga Badau and penetrate all Cross-Border Posts (PLBN) in West Kalimantan.
"According to the President's direction, all of this must be completed in 2024," said Basuki.

He explained that the Ministry of PUPR program not only handles large infrastructure development, but there are also community-based infrastructure development programs such as rehabilitation of uninhabitable houses, construction of school buildings, sanitation and clean water as well as renovation of barred houses and construction of river cliffs.
"Kauas Hulu Regency has a large budget for the incoming state budget for infrastructure, plus the Presidential Instruction, of course, all of them also intervened in proposals from the DPR RI Budget, especially in Commission V," said Basuki.
