Peak Tourism B29 Lumajang Closed Due To The Widespread Of Fires In Bromo
LUMAJANG - The Peak B29 tourist attraction, which is located in Argosari Village, Lumajang Regency, East Java, was temporarily closed due to the widespread forest and land fires in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area.
"The forest fires in the TNBTS area are increasingly widespread, so for the safety and security of tourists, we have closed the B29 tourist attraction from today until an undetermined time limit," said Head of the Lumajang Tourism Office Yuli Harismawati as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.
According to him, the observed hotspots have spread to the P30 area and the Jantur Block because the shrubs and dried weeds with hot weather and strong winds made the fire spread rapidly.
"In fact, it is reported that the fire has started to spread towards the B29 tourist area in Argosari Village, Senduro District, so we closed the tourist attraction for the safety of visitors," he said.
He explained that the closure of the tourist attraction area above the clouds was also to maximize the handling of joint officers in extinguishing fires in the TNBTS area.
"We are working with various parties to convey information related to the closure of the B29 tourist attraction, but we cannot confirm when B29 will reopen due to the situation and conditions of the fire," he said.

Yuli hopes that joint officers can extinguish forest and land fires in the TNBTS area, so that the B29 tourist attraction can be reopened to the general public because so far the trend of visits to tourist attractions has increased after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The peak of B29 is one of the most beautiful and stunning natural tourist attractions in Lumajang, even the tourist attraction is known as the "Negeri above the Clouds" because from the top of the hill you can see views of white clouds and it seems as if they are above white clouds.
This tourist attraction is located on the southeastern side of the Mount Bromo tourist area and is the highest peak in the Mount Bromo area with a height of about 2,900 meters above sea level (masl).
