OpenAI Revenue Projected To Reach IDR 15.2 Trillion In A Year From Sales Of AI Software

OpenaI is on the right track to generate more than $1 billion in revenue over the next 12 months. This is obtained from sales of artificial intelligence software and the computing capacity that powers it. This was first reported by The Information on Tuesday, August 29.

Previously, the ChatGPT maker had projected revenue of US$200 million (Rp3 trillion) for this year.

The Microsoft-backed company is currently making more than 80 million US dollars (Rp 1.2 trillion) of revenue per month, compared to just US$28 million (Rp426.3 billion) over the past year, the report added.

OpenAI itself has not immediately responded to Reuters' request for comment.

In addition to ChatGPT, OpenAI earns money by selling API access to their artificial intelligence models to developers and companies, either directly or through partnerships with Microsoft, which has invested more than $10 billion into the company in January.

ChatGPT, known for producing writings such as prose or poetry as ordered, has gained widespread attention in Silicon Valley as investors see artificial intelligence as the next major growth area for tech companies.
