Despite Accepting Small Things, KPK Reminds ASN To Get Used To Reporting Gratification Indications

JAKARTA - The KPK said that the state civil apparatus (ASN) had to get used to reporting indications of gratification. Even though the gifts received were only small things. "For example, when I went to Bengkulu from Jakarta by land, I stopped at Kaur Regency (Bengkulu Province), there I was given a food gift from the local Bumdes. If I were not the KPK, I would not necessarily be given that, that's called gratification," said KPK Corruption Eradication Analyst Yulianto Sapto Prasetyo in Bengkulu, Tuesday, August 29. When presented with the gift indicated by the gratification, he continued, the next step was to report it to the agency where I work. "I report it as gratification. Even in small matters, the form of gratification must be reported," he said.

According to him, this is done to increase the awareness of state servants so that they are not trapped in the mentality and acts of corruption when carrying out their duties. "From small things, when gratification is given something expensive, it will definitely be a moral burden in the future, there is a conflict of interest, a moral burden. One day meeting with the giver, later there is a bad feeling of not providing back assistance to him," said Sapto. Adar and always avoiding various methods and models of gratification, he said, was an effort in breaking the chain of moral burdens of ASN to interested parties at a later date. "Report if there is a gift or gratification to the parent's agency, to the superior. Every time there is a giving report," he said.

Sapto conveyed this to government ASN in Bengkulu Province in the KPK Roadshow Bus series in Bengkulu. The roadshow will last until September 3, 2023, then the KPK Roadshow Bus will visit the next province on the island of Sumatra.
