Police Arrest Methamphetamine Dealers In Bali Mode Of Using Cambodian Tree Batangs
BADUNG - Police Resort I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Area, Tuban, Badung, Bali dismantled the mode of a laborer with the initials SAP (22) who used stems of Cambodian trees in distributing methamphetamine.
Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Ngurah Rai Airport Police, Iptu Nyoman Yasa, said that the man who works as a laborer on the Kedonganan Market every day, Badung, was caught distributing methamphetamine weighing 0.27 grams gross or 0.17 grams net which he kept under one of the electricity poles at Sunset Road, Kuta District, Badung.
Nyoman Yasa said the man from Banyuwangi, East Java was secured by the Narcotics Unit of the Ngurah Rai Airport Police (16/8) after previously receiving information about illicit narcotics trafficking in the Kuta area.
"This SAP perpetrator was secured as a result of the development of an investigation into information from the public regarding the involvement of drug-related perpetrators," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 25.
Nyoman Yasa explained that based on public information, members of the Narcotics Unit of the Ngurah Rai Airport Police then conducted an investigation into the perpetrators around Sunset Road Kuta Street and a moment later the perpetrators, who had pocketed the characteristics of the police, crossed the area around the Dewa Ruci Statue.
Members of the Narcotics Satres who were aware of their movements immediately followed the perpetrators until they were arrested on Sunset Road Street, Badung.
"The perpetrator's movements at that time were very suspicious, the members finally conducted a search at the TKP and under the electric pole evidence was found in the form of a piece of a Cambodian tree in which there was a piece of blue-lined plastic pipette containing a plastic clip containing clear crystals suspected of containing methamphetamine-type narcotics preparations," said Head of the Resnarkoba Nyoman Yasa.
Nyoman Yasa said from the findings, officers confiscated 0.27 grams of gross methamphetamine or 0.17 grams net along with other evidence including a Xiomi brand cellphone, including the SAP suspect being secured at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police for further processing.

The perpetrator said that he received the methamphetamine from someone through transactions on Instagram social media at a price of Rp. 350,000. After buying the goods, he intended to resell other buyers, but before they were sold they had been caught by the police.
SAP has now been named a suspect and charged with Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum imprisonment of four years and a maximum of 12 years, as well as a fine of at least Rp800 million and a maximum of Rp8 billion.
