PASAMAN BARAT - West Pasaman District Attorney's Investigator, West Sumatra searched the Tirta Gumilang Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) office related to allegations of corruption in abuse in the management and use of new connection installation funds for low-income people worth IDR 3 billion in 2016-2021.

Head of the West Pasaman District Attorney Muhammad Yusuf Putra said the investigative team carried out a series of investigative activities in the form of searches and confiscation of a number of documents, cars and musical equipment.

According to him, the capital statement budget should be used for new water connections for 1,000 low-income people worth IDR 3 billion.

However, in reality, in 2021, PDAM directors will spend the money in other forms by buying used cars and musical instruments.

"This is an allegation of a criminal act of corruption that is being investigated by conducting searches and confiscation of a number of evidences," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 23.

During the search, the prosecutor's investigators confiscated several important documents including cars and musical equipment.

"Until now, we have not determined the suspect and we have examined about 15 witnesses," he said.

The Prosecutor's Office is targeting the completion of the PDAM case to be completed this year.

Meanwhile, PDAM Director Tirta Gumilang Sahrizal confirmed the search and confiscation of files related to the 2016 capital statement budget used in 2021 amounting to IDR 3 billion.

"We are cooperative and do not hinder the search and confiscation of files by the prosecutor's investigators. We will open the widest possible examinations carried out," he said.

Sahrizal emphasized that the activities examined were related to capital statements or grants worth IDR 3 billion in 2016 and were used in 2021.
