PKS Regarding The Opportunities For The Ganjar-Anies Duet: It Is Very Possible That There Will Be A Shift But The Coalition For Change Is Still Solid
DENPASAR - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu gave a response regarding the discourse on the duet of Ganjar Pranowo-Anies Baswedan, as a candidate for president and vice president in 2024 which was raised by the Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Said Abdullah.
Syaikhu assessed that the political parties participating in the 2024 General Election had not yet made a final choice.
"Still looking for the dynamics of each other, so it is still very possible that there will be a shift (candidate and vice presidential candidate) until before registration, it is only discovered that they will lock each other in and final," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.
Although the duet opportunity exists, PKS as part of the change coalition stated that until now they are still steadfast in carrying Anies as a presidential candidate, although many options have surfaced.
"For us, in the coalition of three parties that supported Anies to this day, God willing, it is still solid. PKS, Nasdem and Democrats are still steadfast in carrying Anies Baswedan's brother," said Syaikhu.
"But earlier if there were opportunities and all kinds of things, they were still very open as long as there was no registration process to the general election commission," he continued.
Syaikhu said anything could happen, including when asked about when his presidential candidate announced his deputy candidate to run in the 2024 General Election.
PKS did not set who and when Anies would announce the name, they had submitted several names but in the end handed back the decision to the former Governor of DKI Jakarta.
PKS is also not afraid to see the strength of the opponent, namely Ganjar Pranowo with the support of the PDI-P, PPP, Perindo and Hanura, and Prabowo Subianto with the support of Gerindra, Golkar, PKB and PAN who occupy the survey results superior to Anies.

According to him, the surveys circulating are only a reflection of today's conditions and are not necessarily the same as the next six months, plus when the vice presidential pair is determined.
"We also learned a lot when carrying Anies at the Governor of DKI Jakarta. At that time the survey was still distended, but in the process we tried to continue to convince the public and until finally they made their choice for Anies," said Syaikhu.
