Great Fire In North Barito, Central Kalimantan, 12 Houses Burnt Out
MUARA TAWEH - The fire covered 12 houses and two barracks belonging to residents in the interior of North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, on Monday at around 07.30 WIB.
District government officials said that most of the residents affected by the fire in the Rukun Tetangga 01 neighborhood, Luwe Hulu Village, West Lahei District, did not have time to save their property.
"As a result of this fire, 12 families or 56 people lost their homes," said West Lahei sub-district head Adi Suwarman when contacted by ANTARA from Muara Teweh, August 14.
"In this fire incident there were no casualties," he added.
Members of the Fire Care Community (MPA) with the support of residents and companies around the village are trying to extinguish the fire that occurred in the Luwe Hulu Village area.

Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of North Barito Regency, Rizali Hadi, said that BPBD was preparing to help residents affected by the fire in Luwe Hulu Village.
"Currently we have prepared tents, which residents can use to evacuate, and other logistics (prepared) while coordinating with the sub-district. We hope that by this afternoon we will go there (the location of the fire)," he said.
