Update On Kylian Mbappe's Status In PSG's Main Team
JAKARTA - Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) no longer freezes Kylian Mbappe's status in the first team. Previously, the player had been frozen with his status due to being reluctant to continue the cooperation contract.
The news about Mbappe's status was conveyed by PSG through his social media account. Quoted on Monday, August 14, an agreement to rejoin was obtained after a discussion between the team and Mbappe.
"After a constructive and positive discussion between PSG and Kylian Mbappe before the match against Lorient, players have been allowed to join the first team again in this morning's training session," read the club's official statement.
The return of Mbappe's joining with the first team was also conveyed by PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi. He said Mbappe had returned to the Sunday training session.
Previously, it was known that Mbappe's status suspension was on the team because there was a high tension between the two parties. This was triggered by the player's decision not to extend his contract which will expire in June 2024.
Mbappe's decision to refuse an extension was reported to have made him determined to join Spanish giant club Real Madrid when his contract expired. This makes PSG so intend to release Mbappe because they don't want the player to go to another club for free.
PSG has actually received an offer of 285 million from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal as a dowry for Mbappe's transfer. Later at the Arab club, Mbappe is also claimed to be getting a fantastic salary of around 700 million in a year.
Unfortunately, Mbappe rejected this lucrative offer. The 24-year-old has no desire to play in Saudi Arabia and still intends to move to Spain.
