Elon Musk And Mark Zuckerberg Prepare For MMA Battle With Ancient Roman Themes In Italy
Tesla's leader, Elon Musk, said on Friday 11 August that the home fight he planned with his rivals, billionaire Mark Zuckerberg would be held in an "epic" location with the ancient Roman theme. This comes after Italy indicated its readiness to stage the fight.
Italian Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano said in a statement that he had spoken to Musk about holding a "big and historically interesting" event. He did not explain what the event was, or when the event would be held, only saying that it would not take place in Rome.
Meanwhile, opposition politicians condemned his readiness to allow social media and tech giants to fight in Italy.
"I feel very impressed that Italy's cultural heritage is provided for two billionaires who want to pamper themselves like stupid teenagers," said Carlo Calenda, former industry minister and head of Azione's party.
"There are things that are not sold. One of them is the dignity and history of a big country," he said.
Musk and Zuckerberg have stimulated each other to engage in mixed martial arts (MMA) cage fights since June.

At one point, Musk said that the ancient Colosseum in Rome would host the fight, but Italy refused. However, the owner of media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, said last Friday that the fight would still have an ancient Roman theme.
"Everything on the camera frame will be an ancient Roman, so nothing is modern at all. I spoke with the Italian Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location," the Tesla CEO said at a post on X.
