Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the government had finalized the 2024 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft (RAPBN). This was held at a Plenary Cabinet Meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the State Palace in the middle of this week.
According to the Minister of Finance, the August period was quite an important time because there was a lot of work to be done.
"On August 16, 2023, President Jokowi will submit the 2024 State Budget and Expenditure Revenue Plan (APBN) in front of the DPR-RI Plenary Session. The last RAPBN is the final APBN to support the work program of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet under the leadership of President Jokowi and Kyai H. Ma'ruf Amin," he said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, August 10.
The Minister of Finance explained that the President's directives for various national priority development programs to be completed properly and thoroughly. Then, the importance of being aware of geopolitical developments, climate change and the threat of El Nino that has the potential to disrupt food security.
"We also need to improve the quality of human resources through appropriate and strong education and health reform programs and social safety nets. Then, hone the capabilities and competencies of workers including Indonesian migrant workers so that they are able to work quality with good income and safety and safety guarantees," he said.
