Road Repairs In Jakarta Speeded Ahead Of The ASEAN Summit, Heru Budi Apologizes For Disturbed Citizens' Activities
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is intensifying road repairs ahead of the ASEAN Summit (KTT) which will be held on September 5-7, 2023. Acting (Pj) DKI Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono apologized if this road repair disturbed the community in their activities.
The repaired roads range from the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport area, Senayan, Slipi, around the ASEAN office, to the State Palace.
This was conveyed by Heru in the discussion of the Merdeka Barat 9 Forum entitled Road to ASEAN Summit which raised the theme "ASEAN Smart City, Quality of Life" which was held online.
"On this occasion, I want to apologize to the public sometimes at night," said Heru, Tuesday, August 8.
Heru explained that the road repairs at this time were aimed at beautifying the arrangement of the city of Jakarta when the ASEAN Summit delegates arrived. Therefore, Heru asked the public to participate in maintaining the infrastructure that had been arranged.
"Now (road repairs) have entered Gatot Subroto, entering Kuningan, Rasuna Said, has been tidied up, has been smoothed. So, whoever rides a motorbike rides a motorbike, walks, of course this must be treated," he said.

In addition, Heru also said that his party had reduced carbon emissions. This reduction in carbon emissions is carried out in various ways, such as the use of electric vehicles, tree planting, and the use of renewable energy.
The program of raising the coastal embankment and the plan to build Giant Sea Wall can also be concrete evidence in maintaining the resilience of the coastal area of Jakarta from the effects of climate change.
Heru also confirmed the government's plan to regulate the use of electric cars for the KTT delegation. According to him, this is a real step for Indonesia to support efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
"We want the ASEAN Summit to be an environmentally friendly event," said Heru.
