Plt Ketum PPP Affirms Commitment To Advance Islamic Boarding Schools
JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) emphasized his alignment with Islamic boarding schools, while visiting Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School, Semarang, Central Java.
"PPP is carrying out the mandate given by KH Maimun Zubair (Mbah Moen). Where PPP cannot leave the kiai and santri. This is a will that we continue," he said in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.
Mardiono's arrival at the Islamic Boarding School was in order to attend the haul or commemoration of the death of Indonesian cleric and politician KH Maimun Zubair.
"As mandated to me and PPP cadres to fight with the people, prosper the Indonesian people, make the Indonesian people strong, and become a baldatun country thayyibatun wa rabbun ghofur," he asserted.
The Presidential Special Envoy (UKP) for Poverty Reduction and Food Security also admitted that he would continue to maintain friendship with kiai and students.
Meanwhile, KH Maimun Zubair's First Son, KH Abdullah Ubab, felt reminded of the presence of PPP in the midst of his parents' trials. He also hopes that PPP can continue to be a party that unites the people.
"I remember even more with my father, who was close to PPP people. This PPP is proven that his spirit is still alive, if possible, it can unite the people," he said.

Ubab also gave encouragement and prayers to Muhamad Mardiono as the leader of PPP to bring his party to rise in the 2024 General Election.
In addition, the Founder and Caretaker of the Fadhlul Fadhlan Semarang Islamic Boarding School, KH Fadlolan Musyaffa, expressed his gratitude for the presence of Muhamad Mardiono.
"This is a form of attention to pesantren and santri who will be the successors of the ulama," he said.
