Starring Christine Hakim, Just Mom Movie Raises An Unbounded Mother's Love Story
JAKARTA - Just Mom has been shown on the paid video service for Online Cinemas. The film, made by director Jeihan Angga and producer Hanung Bramantyo, tells the story of a mother named Siti (Christine Hakim).
Siti is lonely because her children are busy with their own business. Her mother's confusion that wants to delegate love to other people also makes Siti willing to take care of an ODGJ (People With Mental Disorders) named Murni (Ayushita).
Murni is a homeless person who is pregnant and is finally being treated by Siti to get rid of her loneliness. Even though Siti is seriously ill, she still takes care of Murni wholeheartedly like a mother.
Interestingly, the moments in the film are an adaptation of the true stories around. The film is based on the novel Ibu, the Lost Prayer by Bagas Dwi Bawono and has done the World Premiere at Jakarta Film Week in 2021 and Special Screening at the 2021 Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film (JAFF 2021) film festival.
Apart from Christine Hakim, the film Just Mom also stars Ayushita, Niken Anjani, Ge Pamungkas, Dea Panendra, Toran Waibro, and Pritt Timothy.
Christine Hakim said she learned many things from every film she played, including the film Just Mom. "Through the movie 'Just Mom,' I can really feel a sense of honesty in the story of human relations in depth, making me cry when I read the script first," Christine Hakim said in a release received by VOI, Thursday, August 3.
Hanung felt that the film he produced was more than just a cooperation project and he and his team tried to wrap the film up according to what they wanted to convey to the audience.
"There are many messages that can be conveyed and hopefully, everyone can feel it with their stories," said Hanung Bramantyo.
