Medan Police Intensify Patrols To Fight Robbery
The Medan Polrestabes Anti-Begal Team has intensified patrols to suppress the crime of street bandits.
The patrol was led by Ipda Syafrizal, which was attended by seven other personnel using six units of two-wheeled vehicles.
"The intensity of patrols by the Anti-Begal Team is indeed aimed at suppressing street crimes in the jurisdiction of the Medan Restabes," said Medan Police Chief Kombes Valentino Alfa Tatareda as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 3.
Valentino hopes that the intensity of this patrol can make the residents of Medan City comfortable, especially those who are active at night.
"The Medan Polrestabes Anti-Begal Team, namely Jalan HM Said, Jalan HM Yamin, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Jalan Letda Sujono, Jalan Willem Iskandar, Jalan Percut, Jalan Mandala, Jalan Besar Tembung, Jalan Simple, JPasar IV Simpang Jodoh and other routes," said the Medan Police Chief.

Previously, the Medan Polrestabes Anti-Begal Team and the Patumbak Police, who were on patrol at night, arrested two men suspected of stealing a fence on a house on Jalan Pelita, Medan Amplas District, Medan City, North Sumatra.
The two men who stole the fence of the house, namely AA (35) and RS (52) both residents of Jalan Pelita, Medan Amplas District, Medan City, were arrested by officers, Sunday (30/07) night.
"After being arrested by personnel from the Medan Polrestabes Anti-Begal Team, the two perpetrators were then brought to the Patumbak Police to undergo further legal proceedings," said Head of Public Relations of the Medan Polrestabes Kompol Riama Siahaan, Monday (31/7).
Riama said that of the two suspected thieves, the police secured evidence of two pieces of iron fence, one Android cellphone and one unit of white Honda Scoopy motorcycle BK 5430 AHI.
