Medan City Disdukcapil Prioritizes Blangko KTP-el For Beginners
JAKARTA - The Population and Civil Registry Service (Disdukcapil) of Medan City, North Sumatra, prioritizes blank electronic identity cards (KTP-el) for residents aged 17, who have just been "obliged" to have the identity card.
"Currently, the supply of blanks for e-KTPs is limited, therefore we prioritize Medan residents who are only taking care of their e-KTPs for the first time," said Head of the Medan City Disdukcapil, Maj. Siregar, quoted from Antara, Sunday.
This condition, he continued, was due to many residents outside the city of Medan printing e-KTPs, both in sub-districts and sub-districts in the capital city of North Sumatra Province.
He also explained that currently the Medan City Disdukcapil is carrying out a "pick up the ball" system for beginners to record e-KTPs, including visiting high school/equivalent three times a week, namely on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
"This system is implemented to provide convenience for beginners in managing and obtaining e-KTPs," he said.

Pick-up steps are also taken in preparation for the 2024 General Election. Teenagers who are currently in high school/equivalent in the election will have the right to vote, and one of the conditions must have an e-KTP.
Regarding the limitations of the blanks for managing e-KTP, he stated that he had sent a letter to the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs so that he could send the blanks to Medan City.
"Hopefully as soon as possible we will receive a post of blanks from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs," he said.
