Google Launches Unknown Tracker Alerts, Bluetooth Anti Stalker Tracking Feature

JAKARTA - After several months of being introduced to Google I/O 2023 last May, Google has finally officially launched the Unknown Tracker Alerts feature to Android users.

According to Google, this feature allows phones to help you stay safe from unwanted Bluetooth tracking on Android.

How Does It Work?

So, with this feature later you will be notified via your Android device, if an unknown Bluetooth tracker travels with you.

If the phone finds the accessory, you can immediately tap the notification to learn more about the tracker and see the map where the tracker is visible, usually in the form of information about the device owner.

In addition, you can also tap the "Play voice" option to make accessories sound, thus helping you to find them.

Once you receive a warning, you can learn more about how to take action. You can also disable Bluetooth tracker completely, so the device will not receive a future location update.

Google created a manual scanning feature so you can check if there are trackers around who are separated from their owners whenever you want.

To use this feature, open Settings > Safety & Emergency > Unknown Tracker Alerts, and select the Scan now button. Your device will take about 10 seconds to complete manual scanning, and then you will see a list of trackers currently specified near you.
