Jokowi Meets Xi Jinping
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo immediately held a bilateral meeting with President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping upon his arrival in Chengdu, China.
In the meeting that took place at the Jinniu Hotel, Chengdu, President Jokowi expressed his appreciation for China's support for Indonesia, which is currently holding the chairmanship of ASEAN.
"I really appreciate China's support for Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN and ASEAN's centrality in an inclusive regional architecture to maintain the Indo-Pacific region so that it remains peaceful, stable, and prosperous," the President said in his introduction, as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27
The President also said that Indonesia and China had succeeded in making real progress in a number of collaborations, especially since the holding of the G20 Bali last year.
"I am pleased that there have been many concrete advances since our meeting in Bali last November," he said.

Previously, President Jokowi and the First Lady arrived at the Jiniu Hotel at around 16.20 local time.
Upon arrival, the President and the First Lady were greeted directly by President Xi Jinping and Madam Peng who were followed by a group photo with the flags of each country in the background.
