This Is The Difference Between All-New Triton Competing In AXCR 2023 With The New Standard Version Launched
JAKARTA - Ahead of his participation in the Asia Cross Country Rally 2023 (AXCR 2023), Team Mitsubishi Ralliart revealed more technical matters regarding the All-New Triton pickup, which will navigate obstacles from Thailand to Laos.
After the dsar version was launched in Bangkok, Thailand, the rally team introduced the All-New Triton in accordance with the regulations included in the event. Of course, this pickup gets some improved aspects.
Reported on the official Mitsubishi Motors website, Wednesday, July 26, the car was modified according to the regulations of the International Racing Federation or the FIA for Group T1, the category followed by the Triton pickup.
The All-New Triton is modified in such a way as a roll cage and bemper shield protector, as well as components made of carbon fiber, including engine hoods, front and rear doors, and cargo bins. This is done to reduce the amount of weight so that it gains a dynamic driving style through various obstacles.
Weight reduction is also carried out in the interior sector, so that the new Triton rally car body weight is equivalent to the previous rally car. While the body size is bigger than the previous Triton.
In order for the car to move toughly on a challenging terrain, the All-New Triton is equipped with a front and rear suspension devoted to rally events and the Limited Differential Slip (LSD) which can make it easier for racers to stabilize driving with this pickup.
Team Ralliart also uses other lightweight materials such as aluminum rims and off-road tires that are thinner than last year's car to gain maximum grip on the hard road surface.
This pickup has also used a formidable chassis with a double front and rear damping, along with a bump stop component that serves as a shock damper.
Just like the base version, Team Ralliart still maintains a 2.4 liter diesel turbo engine. However, the rally team changed it by reducing friction and weights. To make it more powerful, the All-New Triton was given the latest turbo to maximize its performance.
With the engine and turbocharger embedding in this car, All-New Triton in AXCR 2023 reaches up to 203 dk of power and 470 Nm of torque, which is paired with a transmission system of six manual accelerations and a four-wheel drive system (4WD).
