The Coal Truck Driver Who Threatened Officers With Machetes In Jambi Has Been Arrested By The Police
JAMBI - Police arrested a coal transport truck driver in Jambi who threatened a Jambi Transporters Association (ATJ) officer with a sharp weapon. The driver's action went viral on social media.Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jambi Police, Iptu Yudha Rengga, said the threatening incident occurred on Jalan Lingkar Selatan, Jambi City. The perpetrator has the initials MK (39), a resident of Mayang Mangurai, Jambi City."Yes, the perpetrator has been arrested," he said in Jambi as reported by Antara, Thursday, July 27.The incident began when the ATJ Task Force officers were controlling coal transport drivers about operating hours that had not been allowed. Suddenly the perpetrator did not accept it and threatened to use a sharp machete."Initially, because of the commotion, he did not accept being brought under control by the ATJ task force, then threatening the task force with a machete," he said.Feeling threatened, the officer from the transporter association immediately contacted the police. Furthermore, the police responded to the commotion that occurred.At that time, members of the South Jambi Police were carrying out a mobile at the TKP and then contacted by residents, there was a coal transport driver who took a machete from the vehicle carried by the perpetrator and there was a commotion between the perpetrator and the ATJ task force.Furthermore, the police immediately secured the driver to the South Jambi Police along with sharp machetes."The perpetrator and sharp weapons have been secured to the South Jambi Police," he said.
For his actions, the perpetrator will be charged with Article of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951. The perpetrator's actions, he said, could endanger other people.
