Malaysian Home Trade Minister Salahuddin Ayub Dies At The Age Of 61

KUALA LUMPUR - Minister of Domestic Trade and Malaysian Living Cost Salahuddin Ayub passed away on Sunday at 21:23 p.m. Malaysia's 61st year old.

A media statement from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and the Malaysian Cost of Living stated that the minister, who is also a member of the People's Council of the Pulai Dapil, Johor, breathed his last at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar, Kedah.

Quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 24, the body of the deceased will be brought back to his mother's house in Kampung Serikat (Kopi Tenggek), Tanjung Piai, Johor.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who on Sunday night was carrying out a mix-up of Madani and the Kelantan State Association of Jentera Travelers with Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and leader of the Integrated Government in Kelantan, said the departure of Minister Sallahudin Ayub was a big loss for himself and his family.

"Personally, this is a big loss for me and my family. Brother Salahuddin stood firm together in this long struggle until the end of his life. His services and kindness certainly cannot be addressed materially," said Anwar through his social media account.

Anwar said he knew the deceased as a person who had a high personality attitude, both to friends and opponents. A strong figure and trustworthy at work.

Malaysian Interior Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also conveyed takziah and prayed that the deceased's family would be steadfast with this very tough test.

"The deceased's position is very large. He is the one who sparked the concept of Payung RAHMAH, Menu RAHMAH, Selling RAHMAH and many more to help reduce the burden on the people," he said.
