The Future Nissan Electric Car Will Adopt The Skyline Name In The Form Of An SUV
JAKARTA - A Japanese car manufacturer, Nissan, is reportedly intending to revive the iconic name in the ranks of its latest models. One of the iconic names Nissan thought was Skyline.
The name Skyline is no stranger to Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicle lovers. At that time, this car was known to have a very good reputation for its performance and distinctive design.
Because the car is for the future, it is not surprising that the name Skyline will be given to electric vehicles from Nissan. However, changes to the Skyline will not only end there.
Reporting from carscoops, Jum'at, July 21, the model will later follow trends like Ariya. Which means, the name Skyline will be presented in an SUV.
Although the news is still limited, rumors say that this car will later be under the Infinity brand for the North American market.
If this news is proven true, it is likely that the model will share a platform with Nissan Ariya, namely CMF-EV. That way, Skyline will be equipped with a four-wheeled e-4ORCE drive system and a double electric motor that produces around 450 dk.
Of course this is not good news for Skyline lovers. What's more, the name has the characteristics of a sedan or coupe car that has impressive performance with its flagship RB26DETT engine.

However, the embedding of the name Skyline in an Infinity car in SUV has been done before. The manufacturer presented the Skyline Crossover in 2009 with a four-door model based on EX37.
However, the Sakura country manufacturer had to embed the name in order to smooth out their plans in electrification.
As part of their plan, Nissan aims to sell 98 percent of EV or hybrid models in the European market by 2026. Nissan also plans to present 27 electrification models, including 19 EV units by 2030.
