Paul McCartney Mourns Tony Bennett's Death

JAKARTA - Anthony Dominic Benedetto or better known as Tony Bennett passed away on Friday, July 21 yesterday. The legendary American singer died at the age of 96.

Before exhaling his last breath, Tony Bennett was found to have Alzheimer's disease in 2016. Even so, he is still active in music until 2022.

Tony Bennett's last appearance came in 2021, when he and Lady Gaga participated in one of the events at Radio City Music Hall, New York City.

For his departure, Paul McCartney expressed his condolences. Not only did He call Tonny a quality singer, he also called her a good friend.

"It's very sad to hear that Tony Bennett has passed away. He is a good spsial singer and friend," Paul McCartney wrote in his Instagram post, seen Sunday, July 23.

The Beatles personnel were grateful to have worked with Tonny. He called Tonny a magical figure.

"I had the privilege of working with him on several occasions, and he was always magical to see. Thank you Tonny for the joy you brought to our world," Paul said.

Throughout his career, Tony Bennett has released 61 album studios, and many other albums. He also won 20 Grammy Awards.

Due to his services and influence in the United States music industry, Tony Bennett's name is listed as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
